Hot Press Care Guide

Hot Press replicates the sleek, glassy finish of silk-pressed hair. Like Blow Out, it’s a smooth texture, but Hot Press has an even flatter, glossier finish that needs slightly more careful handling.

Washing

Wash every 2 to 3 weeks with a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo and a lightweight conditioner. Squeeze water through the hair rather than rubbing, and finish with a cool rinse to help maintain the pressed, glassy look for as long as possible after washing.

Styling and maintenance

Dry the hair pulled taut, either by air-drying with light tension or a low, direct heat pass with a flat iron on clean, fully dry hair, to keep the strand as straight and shiny as possible. Use a small amount of light shine serum or heat protectant oil rather than cream, since creams tend to add texture rather than sleekness. Wrap the hair around the head at night (a traditional silk wrap) rather than in a bun, to preserve the straight finish and prevent bends or creases.

What to avoid
Avoid water exposure without a plan (rain, steam, humidity) since this texture reverts fastest of all four, heavy or creamy products, and tight elastics that can leave dents in the smooth finish.
