FAQs
This section contains everything you need to know about choosing, matching, and caring for your Faari extensions — from curl pattern to length, colour, and longevity.
How do I choose my texture?
Start with what you're trying to achieve. If you're blending extensions with hair you're leaving out (clip-ins, or bundles for a leave-out sew-in), pick the texture that most closely matches your natural curl pattern for a seamless finish. If you're going fully in (closure, full sew-in, wig), you have more freedom to choose based on the *look* you want rather than a match to your own hair.
Our range:
Coil'd Up — tight, springy coils (4A)
Kink Theory — dense, compact kinks (4B)
Blow Out — mimics a fresh blow-dry finish on natural hair
Hot Press — mimics a silk press, smooth with natural movement
My hair falls under more than one curl pattern — which should I buy?
Completely normal — most heads have at least two curl patterns across the scalp. If you're only leaving out a small section, match the texture to that section specifically. If you're doing a fuller blend or unsure, go one texture looser than your tightest pattern (e.g. Coil'd Up rather than Kink Theory) — it's easier to define a looser texture down than to stretch a tighter one out.
What colours does Faari hair come in?
Our bundles currently come in natural virgin colour only.
How much hair do I need for a full head?
We recommend up to 3 bundles for lengths 12-20 inches. For lengths above 22 inches, we recommend 4 bundles for full head.
What length should I choose?
Textured hair has natural shrinkage — the *stretched* length (what's on the label) will look shorter once the curl pattern sets in, sometimes by 30–40%. If you're used to straight hair extensions, size up from what you'd normally choose to account for this.
Can Faari hair be dyed?
Yes — because it's made from human hair, it takes colour the same way your own hair would. Keep in mind lightening in particular will affect the hair's condition, so we always recommend a strand test first and a good aftercare routine (deep conditioning, minimal heat) once coloured.
Can Faari hair be heat styled?
Yes — straightened, curled, blown out, all of it. Just like your natural hair, extensions are susceptible to heat damage, so use a heat protectant and keep tools at a moderate temperature, especially on textures like Coil'd Up and Kink Theory where the curl pattern is more delicate to reset.
How do I care for my extensions?
Please see the FAARI care guide for advice on care of your extensions.
Can I swim in my Faari extensions?
Yes — just rinse out chlorine or salt water as soon as possible afterwards and follow with a deep conditioning treatment. Left untreated, both can dry out and roughen the hair over time.
Can I sleep in my Faari extensions?
Yes, with the right prep — a silk or satin bonnet or pillowcase will protect both the hair and your curl definition overnight. Loosely plaiting or twisting longer lengths before bed also helps prevent tangling.
How long will my Faari extensions last?
With proper care:
- Worn regularly: around 1 year
- Worn occasionally: 2+ years
Longevity comes down to care routine more than anything else — gentle washing, minimal heat, protective storage, and avoiding product buildup near the wefts/bonds all extend the life of the hair significantly.
